Amazon has come out with their own line of linens under the Pinzon brand, which includes dorm bedding. Is the Pinzon line any good for dorm bedding? Check out this review to find out!
As I’m sure you well know, you can buy just about anything on Amazon and they offer many different colors and additional accessories to make shopping for college easy. Pricing is on the higher end compared to other bedding reviewed and there is only a 30 day return policy. On the plus side there are many positive reviews on Amazon for these sheets.
Our test bedding was the 300 thread count percale sheet made from 100% cotton in spa blue.
The bedding shipped quickly, making it to our door in two business days and arrived in excellent condition. The set included a flat sheet, fitted sheet and pillow case.
Initial quality out of the package was good. Sheets are heavy and fairly soft. 3/8″ elastic ran all around the fitted sheet and there were a few loose threads but none were coming out of any stitching. No loose threads were detected after the wash and dry test.
The fitted sheet started out as 37″ X 83″ and after five washing and dryings, was reduced to 34.25″ X 79.5″ Starting weight was a hefty 16.33 oz. and reduced to 15.56 oz. or a loss of 4.72% making these the heaviest and most durable feeling sheets out of the bunch. These sheets did wrinkle more than the other sheets so if you are concerned with the appearance, we would recommend getting these out of the dryer hot or ironing them.
We did notice some minimal pilling on these sheets.
Little to no color difference was seen after washing and drying.
Left side pre wash – right side post wash
- Wash once before using
- Machine wash cold with like colors
- Only non-chloring bleach when needed
- Tumble dry low
- Remove promptly
- Low iron when needed
- Do not dry clean
Overall these are nice sheets and were the thickest and most durable feeling out of the dorm bedding we tested, but feel there are better ones to choose from.
